Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) has a dedicated division for certifying shipwreck coins and cobs. It is the only independent organization offering these services to collectors. NGC certification provides several benefits, including recording each coin’s origin in their database, which confirms its authenticity. Additionally, experts assess the coin’s condition using a well-established grading scale.
At WreckTreasure we are fond of NGC slabbed pieces, as may be noticeable from the items we offer in our collections. At WreckTreasure, we’re a small team driven by a fascination with shipwreck coins and artefacts. After years of building our own collections, we wanted to create a place where others could discover these unique treasures too. Starting a webshop had been on our minds for a long time, but it wasn’t until March 2024, during our first big meeting, that the idea really took shape. It took another 10 months to turn that idea into reality, but on January 25th, 2025, wrecktreasure.com was officially launched! We’re excited to continue this journey for many years to come.
