Jeton Nurenberg

Presented here is a French jeton, minted in the city of Nuremberg during the reign of Louis XIV, featuring nearly uncirculated details. What makes this jeton exceptionally rare is that it is one of the very few examples of its type recovered from the Merestein shipwreck. Adding to its significance is its outstanding condition, with only minimal traces of saltwater damage. Both sides of the jeton retain dark patches of encrustation, serving as a striking reminder of its shipwreck origins and centuries-long underwater journey.
