Arendschelling Zwolle

Here we present a schelling minted in the Dutch Republic, in the city of Zwolle. While submerged off the rugged coast of South Africa, this silver coin sustained slight edge damage and has become slightly bent—both the result of its challenging underwater environment. Despite this, the coin retains a beautiful dark patina and still displays impressive detail. It offers a rare opportunity to acquire a tangible piece of one of history’s great maritime chapters.
