This Mexican cob is a rare artifact from the Loosdrecht shipwreck, one of only a few dozen coins ever recovered from the site. Even more exceptional is its condition—while many coins from the wreck were heavily corroded, this piece retains an impressive 80% of the shield with sharp details and a well-defined cross on the reverse. Though it bears some signs of saltwater exposure, they are minimal, allowing its original design to stand out.
