2 Stuiver Akerendam

 260.00

During the official salvage operations off the Norwegian coast in 1972-73, exactly 29,249 of these coins were recovered. They had been minted exclusively for the Dutch East India Company due to a shortage of low-demonination currency in the Dutch East Indies. Most of the recovered coins were heavily corroded, making it extremely rare to find one in such well-preserved condition.
